Activities: The following are the activities of this committee:

 1. To establish and maintain contacts with the various administrations (national and regional), and national institutions and associations, to increase the level of coordination between different entities.

 2. This committee coordinates its work with the Spanish Platform for Hydrogen Technology and Fuel Cells (PTE HPC) in developing an Action Plan for promoting hydrogen and fuel cell technologies to public administrations. One of the priorities shall be to establish the most direct line of communication possible with the autonomous governments both at the political level as wells as through energy agencies or equivalent. The first step toward achieving coordination shall be a process of disseminating information to the administrations.

3. Through its relationships with regional and national administrations, this committee shall be responsible for identifying financial aid programmes (related to the organization of events, dissemination of information, promotional activities and the preparation of publicity materials, the creation and maintenance of websites, and aspects related to regulations and standards, etc.) that may benefit AeH2, and to inform AeH2 members about financial support that they may receive.

 4. This committee shall plan the events that AeH2 should organize, and shall decide which national events the association should participate in. Regarding the events resulting from the annual Activities Plan, this committee shall ensure that the established timetable is met and that the person responsible for organizing them respects the Association’s objectives (recommendations for the members and control of the providers responsible for carrying out the events). This committee shall evaluate the events in which AeH2 participates and the way in which it participates (giving a talk, sponsoring, exhibiting, attending, etc.). Moreover, the committee shall be informed about the events in which AeH2 may be interested in participating without having received a prior invitation (GENERA, science weeks, conventions, conferences, etc.), and evaluate the way it participates in the event.

ActivitiesThe following are the activities for which this committee is responsible:

  • To establish and maintain contact with the EHA, EC-HFP, IEA and non-Spanish institutions and associations. The objective is to establish a coordination plan to improve Spain’s position in intranational and international institutions.

  • Since the AeH2 is a member of the European Hydrogen Association (EHA), this committee shall provide indications to the AeH2 representative regarding guidelines, voting decisions and similar matters, and channel the information received, depending on its characteristics, to the Board of Directors, institutional members or all members.

  • If international agencies seek AeH2’s participation to explain the Spanish perspective in a certain forum and a representative has yet to be named, the committee shall recommend the expert it deems appropriate to carry out this task in each situation.

  • To select the most important information from international activities (EC-HFP, IEA, etc.) to be distributed within the AeH2.

  • To identify financial aid programmes at the international level that could benefit AeH2 and its members.

  • Identify, gather and distribute information to AeH2members about Framework 7 educational programmes.

  • To select quality documents related to hydrogen and fuel cell technologies with the aim of making them available to AeH2 members.

The following are this committee’s tasks at the scientific level:

1.To study the most efficient way to inventory national research groups involved with hydrogen and fuel cell technology, establish communication channels between them and with companies, and for purposes of detecting areas of work in which to carry out activities.

2.Identify groups of experts on subjects indirectly related to hydrogen, such as renewable energies.

3.Identify and select documents and scientific publications on the most important projects with the aim of conveying the information to Association members.

The committee shall carry out the following tasks at the technological level:

1.To promote better use of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies with a clear orientation toward engineering and business. To do this, it shall identify the major obstacles to the generalized use of these technologies, seeking solutions in each case to remove these technological barriers (via projects and new developments) and economic barriers (studying the need to establish subsidies and determine their structure and amount), and in relation to safety and regulations (supervising the work of the AENOR CTN 181 committee).

2.To conduct technological evaluations of the patent information received at the AeH2.

3.It is agreed that this committee shall be responsible for organizing AeH2’s participation in technical meetings, selecting the most appropriate AeH2 member to participate in a specific technical discussion.

7.To draft press releases within a short time (1 or 2 days) and review the press releases prepared by the AeH2 technical secretariat. “Press releases” include those requested by the news media and those that may be sent by the committee in reply to the ever increasing news reports about hydrogen and fuel cells.
